We have just enjoyed the TRIC Charity Lunch, a lovely relaxed occasion when we had the great pleasure of handing our cheques to the various charities we are able to support because of your generosity. It was with particular pleasure that we were able to give Vision Aid a cheque for £10,000. Vision Aid, Roy Hudd's choice, is such a worthy cause, giving support to visually handicapped children and their families.
Incidentally, the lunch was a complete sellout so for the first time we shall probably make a small profit. A positive way to start the year with Tom O'Connor as TRIC president.
The Charity Lunch is always a little sad as we have to say goodbye to one President and hello to a new one. It has been such a pleasure to work with Roy Hudd and his wife Debbie, they have worked really hard for TRIC this year and Roy has entertained us in his inimitable style at every TRIC event.
We were pleased (with a little help from Debbie) to be able to give Roy a gift that he really wanted. This was enabled by the most generous dontation from Malcolm Saville of Bang and Olufsen of some speakers.
We do hope that Roy and Debbie will be able to join us at all our future events - they have become really good friends to TRIC.
We were delighted to welcome past Presidents Ned Sherrin CBE and Sir Bernard and Lady Nancy Ingham. At the lunch we welcomed Tom O'Connor as our new President for the coming year and we are sure that we have another successful and most entertaining year ahead.
Barry Willmore of LG has kindly agreed to a second term as Chairman so we move into the coming year with confidence.
